A1 + A2 Dutch (NT2)
Delft Method
(Modules 1, 2, 3, 4 and optional A2 Grammar)
Do you have little or no knowledge of Dutch? With these four modules, you will reach A2 level of Dutch. The course is intensive, structured, and designed for highly educated expats who want to quickly and effectively build their language skills.
Course Design
Modules:
1, 2, 3, 4 (and optional A2 Grammar)
Duration per module:
5 weeks
Online conversation lessons:
Twice a week, 40 minutes per lesson, in groups of 2–9 students
Pace:
Fast – 4–6 hours of homework per week
Final Exam:
At the end of each module, you will take an internal exam to be admitted to the next module.
Certificate:
Upon successful completion of the final exam for Module 4, you will receive the A2 certificate. What you’ll learn
Study approach
You’ll prepare at home with e-learning. In e-learning, you’ll practice listening, reading, pronunciation, and writing. You’ll learn 50 new words per lesson.
In online conversation lessons, you’ll discuss the texts you’ve prepared at home with other students and the teacher. The teacher helps, corrects, provides feedback, and answers questions.
The Delft Method teaches you Dutch naturally, with minimal grammar explanations and plenty of context and repetition.
Would you like to pay extra attention to grammar? In the supplementary Grammar A2 module, you’ll receive clear explanations and apply the rules in writing and orally.

What you'll learn
Speaking:
In intensive conversation lessons, you’ll immediately apply new words. You’ll learn to understand and speak in natural contexts.
Listening, reading, and writing:
You’ll practice using e-learning and the textbook, entirely in Dutch.
Vocabulary:
Up to and including level A2, you’ll learn the 2,200 most commonly used Dutch words.
Grammar:
Basic grammar and common sentence structures, integrated into e-learning.
Topics:
Daily life, work, leisure, family, travel, and situations from Dutch culture.
Language support:
All words are translated into 26 languages. Click on a word in e-learning to see the translation and hear the pronunciation.
