
General Terms and Privacy Regulations of Suitcase talen
Your online registration is a contract with Suitcase talen. By registering you agree with the General Terms and Conditions.
Payment and cancellation of the course
Students pay in advance for each module and are not refunded if they cancel or stop during the module. In the event of an emergency, students have one year to catch up on the module they missed.
When an organization pays for the student, all scheduled modules will be paid in advance by the contractor (the employer or another organization). If the student does not complete the scheduled modules, the contractor will not receive a refund.
Payment and Cancellation of Private Lessons
Students pay for private lessons in advance in blocks of ten lessons. Students are not refunded if they cancel or discontinue during a block. In the event of an emergency, students have one year to complete the missed part of the block.
The following rules apply to companies and institutions:
The contractor (the employer or some other authority) must pay the fee in one payment before the start of the course. In case the student does not complete the course, the contracting party has to fulfill the complete payment.
In case the contractor does not pay the invoice in time, Suitcase talen will not start the course.
Cancellation by Suitcase talen
If there are too few students, Suitcase talen can cancel a course by email up to 5 business days before the start of the module. If the course fee has already been paid, the contracting party can choose to wait until the next start of the same module or request a refund from Suitcase Languages.
Class Attendance and Cancellation
If a student goes on holiday or becomes ill during a module, they can follow the lessons online or request a recording of the lesson no later than 5:00 PM on the day of the lesson.
If the instructor is unable to teach the lesson, a solution will be provided.
Privacy regulations
Personal data of the students, such as their name, address, date of birth, and also data about the progress of the students will be used by Suitcase talen in accordance to the AVG (Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming – GDPR).
Personal data will not be provided to others.
The instructor who administered and graded the tests will inform the student of their test results and how these results were determined. Suitcase talen uses customized tests based on what has been studied so far. Students can review completed tests upon request and within 48 hours of the test. Results, which are determined according to established standards, are non-disputable.
One year after the end of your course, all student-produced work in Suitcase talens possession, such as tests, completed assignments, etc., will be destroyed unless we are permitted to use them with the student’s permission for study or educational purposes, for language teacher training, or as a textbook.
Data about each student’s progress and results, such as starting level, final level, and course duration, will be retained for one year after the end of the course for possible audits by clients, certification bodies, or other bodies that monitor the quality of Suitcase talen.
Students may request Suitcase talen to access, correct, or delete (part of) their personal data, provided it is not necessary for school procedures.
Students have the right to data portability: the right to transfer their personal data.
Students have the right to withdraw previously given consent for the use of their personal data.
If students have any complaints about their privacy in relation to Suitcase talen, they can follow the complaints procedure.
The teacher who conducted the written and oral tests and evaluated them
One year after the student has finished his or her course, all the documents that the student produced, like tests and written assignments, will be destroyed. Suitcase talen asks for the student’s permission in case Suitcase talen wishes to use these products for educational purposes such as a teacher training or the preparation of a textbook.
Data of each student such as starting level, end level and duration of his the student’s studies are retained until 1 year after the student has finished the course for possible audits by contractors or other organizations that monitor the quality of Suitcase talen.
The student may request Suitcase talen to see the student’s personal data, to correct them or to remove (part of) them – as far as not needed for school procedures.
The student has the right of data portability: the right to transfer personal data.
The student has the right to cancel a permission that the student gave before.
In case the student has a complaint about the student’s privacy in relation to Suitcase talen, the student can follow the complaint procedure.
Student data may be accessed by Suitcase personnel only under strict conditions of confidentiality.
Student data are stored digitally or on paper using standard office security precautions (computers protected by strong passwords and security software, premises protected by burglar and fire alarms).
