Civic Integration Course A2

Delft Method

Until July 2026, only expats who want to naturalize can take the Civic Integration Exam at level A2. From that date on, level B1 will be required for civic integration and naturalization.

What to expect

With the Delft Method, you will learn Dutch at level A2 quickly and in a structured manner. This course is intended for students who want to prepare for the Civic Integration Exam A2.

Modules

In the Civic Integration Course A2, you follow modules 1, 2 and 3, and then the A2 exam training. With the optional Grammar A2 module, you’ll build a solid foundation for level B1.

Course Design

Modules:

1, 2, and 3, followed by the A2 Exam Training.

Duration per module:

5 weeks

Online conversation lessons:

Twice a week, 40 minutes per lesson, in groups of 2–9 students.

Pace:

Fast – 4–6 hours of homework per week.

Final Exam:

At the end of each module, you will take an internal exam to be admitted to the next module.

Exam Preparation:

The A2 exam preparation is only available to students who have completed modules 1, 2, and 3 of the Delft Method.

Study approach

You prepare at home with e-learning: reading, listening, pronunciation, and writing

During the online conversation lessons, you talk with the teacher and other students about the texts you have prepared. The teacher corrects you, gives feedback, and helps with pronunciation and word use.

The Delft Method focuses on speaking. You immediately use the vocabulary you’ve learned, helping you quickly build confidence to communicate in Dutch.

€ 209,- per module

A2 Exam Training: €184 (including course materials)

Course materials for all A2 modules: €60

Total price of the A2 Civic Integration Course with the Delft Method: €871

You pay per module. If you stop during a module, you will not receive a refund. In the event of an emergency, you can retake the module within one year.

What you will learn

Spreken:

You will practice conversations about everyday situations, such as work, living, grocery shopping, and socializing.

Reading and listening:

You will learn to understand short texts and follow simple conversations.

Writing:

You will learn functional writing and spelling.

Grammar:

Basic grammar and common sentence structures, integrated into e-learning.

Topics:

Practical topics from everyday life in the Netherlands, relevant to the KNM (Knowledge of Dutch Society) exam component.
