Civic Integration Course B1
Delft Method
With the Delft Method, you’ll learn Dutch at level B1 quickly and in a structured manner. This course is designed for students who want to prepare for the Civic Integration Exam B1.
What to expect
If you don’t speak Dutch yet, the entire program consists of ten modules, each lasting five weeks. If you already speak Dutch, you’ll discuss how many modules you still need in a free intake. You pay per module.
A1: Module 1 + Module 2
A2: Module 3 + A2 Grammar Module + Module 4
B1: Module 5 + Module 6 + B1 Grammar Module + Module 7 + Civic Integration Exam B1 Exam Preparation
After completing all modules, you can immediately take the official Civic Integration Exam B1.
Course Design
Modules:
10 in total (A1–B1 + exam preparation).
Duur per module:
5 weeks.
Online conversatielessen:
Twice a week, 40 minutes per lesson, in groups of 2–9 students.
Tempo:
Fast – average of 4 to 6 hours of homework per week.
Exam Preparation:
5 weeks, 10 40-minute lessons with a teacher and 8 practical exams with personalized feedback. Because the Delftse Method requires little writing but a lot of speaking and reading, we pay extra attention to writing in this course.
Study approach
The Delftse methode helps you learn Dutch faster and better than with traditional courses—but only if you prepare each lesson for 2 to 3 hours and don’t miss more than two lessons per module. You prepare each lesson at home using e-learning. This allows you to practice listening, reading, pronunciation, and writing.
During the online conversation lessons, you discuss the texts you have prepared with the teacher and your fellow students. The teacher helps with pronunciation, corrects where necessary, and answers questions at the end of the lesson. Up to level A2, the texts cover daily life in the Netherlands; from level A2 onwards, you learn more formal language and complex sentences.
After module 8, your language level will be sufficient for the Civic Integration Exam at level B1. Participating in the exam training significantly increases your chances of passing.

You pay per module. If you stop during a module, you will not receive a refund. Use the contact form if you want to start a higher module instead of Module 1. A free telephone intake is usually sufficient, but sometimes we offer a short trial lesson to determine the right starting level.

Speaking and listening:
You will learn to have conversations in everyday and professional situations. The emphasis is on fluent speaking and understanding.
Reading and writing:
You will understand more complex texts and learn to write clear, correct sentences.
Vocabulary:
From A0 to B1, you will learn approximately 4,400 Dutch words.
Grammar:
Two optional grammar modules (A2 and B1) for those who want more theory and structure.
Topics:
From practical situations to social topics, culture, work, and KNM (Knowledge of Dutch Society).
Language support:
